I've been a broadcast engineer since 1982.
I have plenty of experience troubleshooting
problems and do it daily which is probably
why I simply prefer my sets, which I watch at
least once a week for a few hours, to work
without me having to pull them out of the cabinets and constantly re-repair them. To each his own. I wasn't suggesting a method to avoid and practicing troubleshooting and would recommend someone just learning these sets to give themselves the benefit of figuring out why they don't work step at a time. Once it's working I would still suggest replacing anything out of tolerance. Unless of course you want to repeat the process over and over again.
