Got my hands today on one like the one bellow. It's from the '80's. The only bad thing about Romanian 4,5 V batteryes was that they had paper case and when they liked... How dangerous are the substances that liked from a Zinc-Carbon battery?

The stuff is corrosive and poisonous. Not super dangerous but still not to be ignored. Wash your hands soon after handling it and don't leave it on any surface you care about.

Looks like an Eveready # 703 4.5v battery, that was used mostly in small flashlights.
