Got my hands today on one like the one bellow. It's from the '80's. The only bad thing about Romanian 4,5 V batteryes was that they had paper case and when they liked... How dangerous are the substances that liked from a Zinc-Carbon battery?

I did washed my hands. When I was a kid I teared apart some 4,5 V batteryes to take away the elctrodes
 Didn't know they where poisonus. Nothing happened to me.

Looks like an Eveready # 703 4.5v battery, that was used mostly in small flashlights.
