tvhistory.tv says 1948.

Bob, I hope you get it. I'm sure you'll do that cabinet justice.

You're welcome Bob, I was hoping you would grab it. I have way too much going on right now, it should turn out to be a beauty.

I picked i up yesterday. Took two strong men and an appliance dolly to hoist it out of the basement. It weighs a ton!

Finish is quite nice except for a couple of dings in the corners which have been mashed in. Best fix will be to stain and varnish the dings and be done with it.

Crt is only fair. It is the original. With a Beltron cleaning I got 9 seconds life and about 85 micro amps.

CRT measures 420 on a scale of 1000 on the B&K 465.

This is a chanel 1 set.

It will be years before I get to restoring this one, but now it is safe from the dumpster at least.

Bob

If you do get it up and running, you might be able to feed it a channel 1 signal if you modify an old VCR's TV modulator like I did in this article: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=220321 As the picture carrier is on 45.25MHz, one third of that is about 15.0833MHz, and if you can find a crystal of that frequency, and a modulator with the right kind of modulator chip...
