I usually get my caps from Mouser and I try to stay with Nichicon or Panasonic brands. I've not had any problems with any brand that I've gotten from them; but, a lot of modern electronics use cheap off brand caps that fail after a short time period.

Oh the irony
I know this is a long shot, but you wouldn't know a good "television repair for dummies" book wouldn't you? Thanks! |

So I decided that I will try to do the focus and convergence myself. lnx64 graciously accepted to help me with it but he needs to know if this is an inline or a Delta gun. So I'll post the picture here so anyone can anwser that!
Thank you guys! Last edited by Dreamsbeard; 11-19-2012 at 10:59 AM. |

That is definitely a delta gun.
I have no experience on converging a delta gun. But many others here do. |

Allright, is there anyone around here that can help me with that task?
lnx64, you said, the focus part was easier, can you still help me with that? Thanks! |

Yea, there should be a simple focus POT coming from where the flyback is. You just turn it until the TV appears in focus.
I usually focus after converging the TV though, unless you throw an all green screen up on the TV and focus by the scanlines. I do that sometimes too. |

OK, I'll probably do the convergence first. Where can I get a pathern for the convergence? You got one on a genesis cart...that would be great! Can you tel me where I can get one like that?
thanks! |
