Sony 8 - 301 W
Hi all
I just bought a sony 8 - 301 W I'm seeing if anyone has a channel selector knob ? Or a suitable replacement , also the power/volume knob. .thanks for any help in advance. Last edited by Moooovie123; 03-07-2022 at 04:54 PM.

Those knobs on the rear would crack and then fall apart. I suppose in today’s technology a 3D printer could make a close appearance of the originals. This tv used Germanium transistors that got pretty warm. I don’t believe this model was all that reliable for that reason. This model is always so high priced on stealbay. Good luck and enjoy it. This was Sony’s first attempt at television. Did yours have the sun shroud come with it?

The only bad knob is the channel selector, and no sun shade. But CRT is bright and fill all the edges.

Did you get this off of Facebook Marketplace?
I'm asking because I saw a TV just like this for sale on there for the longest time that would show up in my search results and I thought about getting it, but it was missing some of the knobs like yours is, and I wasn't sure how easy it would be to locate those knobs, plus they were asking what I thought was way too much for a TV that was not complete.

No not off market place. No knobs missing on the one I got. The channel selector knob was cracked and previously glued .mine was a a vintage shop in Michigan paid under 100.

Any updates on the "frail little baby"? That's what Sony's own historical site calls this model. It also says, "only the very wealthy and eccentric purchased them".

Those 8-301W sets are pretty trippy. Here's an article describing how I restored mine:
