Brazilian Emerson from 1960
This is one of my latest acquisitions: a 1960 21 inch Emerson TV that was manufactured under license by the "Indústrias Reunidas Max Wolfson" in Rio de Janeiro. On the same trip I brought the Brazilian Predicta seen on top of it, and the 50's Brazilian antenna seen on the last photo. The antenna is missing it's little flying saucer tips, I will have to make replacements for those. I already have three of these antennas, and a fourth one that is black.

And here there's this photo I bought from another seller, in which we can see the same model of Emerson TV. Very unusual picture, must have been taken during Carnival time, because why else would this girl be impersonating an Ancient Egyptian?

Here's a January 17, 1960 newspaper ad with the Emerson TV. You could purchase it with many monthly payments of 3.375 Cruzeiros ( the Brazilian currency of that time ):

CRT production started in Brazil in 1955, first plant belonged to the Invictus radio and TV factory. If I am not mistaken not much after that RCA and Sylvania began local manufacture of CRTs also.
