Anyone in the NoVA/DC area assist me with testing a CRT?

Hey all,

I've got a CRT I took out of a Panasonic AM/FM/SW/Cassette/TV boombox I'd like to have tested. I'm pretty sure the tube is fine and the picture issues were due to just a old, dirty, worn out chassis (which I had no intention of repairing). I'll probably put a small LCD in place of the CRT so it'll be more useful for actual use. (I can't see the reason behind repairing a B&W analog chassis in this day and age)

My issue is I only have a precision 612 tube tester; which I'm pretty sure isn't going to test a CRT. I used to solve this problem since we had a CRT tester/rejuvenator at work; my boss would just throw them on the thing for me. So if anyone in the Northern VA or DC area has a CRT tester and wouldn't mind throwing my CRT on it and letting me know if it's any good or not; I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Why do you care if it is good or not?

Because someone at some point may want that CRT for something. Maybe they have intentions of restoring another portable TV; maybe it'll work in another restoration project. Plus that CRT will work in some older video games that use a 12" CRT.

NoVa= Northern VA
NorVa=Norfolk, VA

Two distinctly different regions.....by about 200 miles or so. If I was still running 17 to Culpepper, I'd offer to help.

OP: What is the tube type? Being in a boombox, it should be a 120/140/160 prefixed tube.

Appreciate the offer, but Norfolk is a good 2, 3 hours away. I don't get down that area except maybe once a year; and that's to hit Busch Gardens.
