Admiral radio - "AC fire ring spark plugs"

I don't know the story behind why this radio is advertising spark plugs. The front is actually kind of beat up, but I think I'm just going to clean and polish rather than trying to repaint any of it. And this is actually a really cheap radio, no IF amp tube, and the tuning knob just sits right on the end of the variable cap, it's not geared down in any way. After a recap, I couldn't get anything out of it, but I touched up the alignment and could then could pull in a just a few strong local stations, I doubt it ever did much better than that. Might do a little better after I clean the dirty vol control. Admiral chassis 4A4A, 1964
