Do you get horizontal spot movement when you put it into XY mode and apply a signal?

If so, the problem is in the sweep circuit. If not, it is in the horizontal amplifier circuit.

Sit with the manual and see how the unit works.

The only thing I get in that mode is a curved trace, and thats only when pressing beamfinder.
