Mystery Sears

I know a lot of company made tv for sears, and some where probably better than other...So with that being said , I was wondering if you guys could identified this one for me. The lady told me it was bought at sears in 83-84 and that's about it.

Sorry, we can't use that picture, as it's too dark.
Try to take another picture, with the set off.
Also include the model number. The first three numbers, usually tell the source code.

But the thing is, that's the picture that's on the classified, and I do not want to trouble the owner again and end up telling them in the end that I do not take the set :P

There isn't any way to tell from the cabinet style?

Unless someone has a means of britening up the picture, too hard to tell.
If the thing's cheap enough, just buy it. Seems to work fairly well.
These things are getting harder to sell. As a result of the times and economy. I don't see too many cabinets sets at the thrifts.

I wasn't aware that samsung built televison before the mid ninety...If that would be the case would the parts (flyback and cie) even be "available" in case of failure?

Lol my Samsung is 80's. And the flyback is available, but the ASTI brand sucked hardcore, but the HR Diemen was awesome.

Sanyo and Toshiba built most TV's for Sears during the '80's. I'm sure this one is a Sanyo and should be a decent set. I think Samsung made a few of their lower end small screen color & B&W TV's; but, I don't know of any larger screen sets that they made. BTW, Samsung started importing TV's over here in the late '70's.

Well, I guess I was wrong! haha! I had no idea samsung began importing that early.

I sent another e-mail to the owner and she tell me that it's her father television and he confirmed that it is a Kenmore television...is that possible? I know kenmore make fridge and appliances...but television? (but hey what do I know )

No it has to be a Samsung, its always a Samsung and everything will be a Samsung. Its the universal talking point that has been riding at the top of the news ticket for every.
You should get the set that way you can have a my Samsung.

Kenmore was the appliance brand for Sears; but, I've never seen the name used on any of their electronics. Up until the early '70's, they used the Silvertone brand on their electronics. From the early '70's until the early-to-mid '80's, their electronics were branded "Sears". In the early '80's, they used the SR1000 and SR2000 brands. By the mid '80's, they used the LXI brand. In the early '90's, they pretty much dropped their house branded electronics and started selling various other brands. The set here falls in the era where it could be branded as Sears, SR2000, or LXI.
