1948 Philco Brochure uploaded.
I uploaded a partial scan of a 1948 Philco brochure.
It's a promo piece pushing Television as the best way to watch Football. I didn't scan all of it because it's mostly scores from 1947 with a place to enter scores from the 1948 season. There is a short article about how to watch Football on TV or listen to it on Radio but that's not included in this PDF, maybe at a later date I'll add that. The address of the shop it came from is stamped on the front and I've included a Google image of the building now (a Meat Market) can't you just imagine that store front with the new Philco line from 1948 in the windows! Here's a link. http://vintagetvsets.com/schem/philcobroch.pdf Last edited by Eric H; 11-07-2010 at 06:10 PM. |

Neat scan!
A store that sold food that was in accordance with islamic law would have had as much business then as a store that sold Philcos from 1949 today. |

OK, sure.
What model is pictured in your brochure ? I also recently picked up another Philco service guide. I'll scan both when it arrives. The seller says it's from 1946. Wasn't that before Philco even introduced their first model ? |

Looks like there would not have been any 15 yard penalties for face mask grabbing...

Yup, my Grandad claims stiffarming someone in the face was the common procedure back in those good old days, at least in the football games he played. Fullface helmets are a wonderful thing, be it in the NFL or on a motorcycle-don't ask how I learned the hard way with the latter!
