sony KV-9300 /KV-8000 value

Are these sets so rare as to asking $499. for a KV9300 on ebay? I know that some sonys are very high priced, but this seems over the top.

Over the top is the understatement of the year !
They have little to no value. They are worth a little to SOME collectors.
If I saw one in mint condition for $10 I would probably walk by.

Valuable sets are often not rare & rare sets are usually not valuable.
Sets of value are ones like pre WW2, first consumer color RCA CT100,
or sets with very distinctive styling like Predictas or Orbitels.

I saw that too and thought it to be ridiculous high priced. Cosmetically its in poor shape for that kind of asking price. Antenna isn't even whole.

For sure, the price is way over the top for a common small Sony portable color set, but there are a couple of uncommon sets that might deserve such a high asking price.

For example, the very early KV-7010 apparently was only imported to a few stores in New York, and is very desirable to Sony collectors... The KVX-370, which uses a beam index CRT is also quite rare and desirable.

OTOH, 10 bucks in my opinion, would be a bargain for a common small Sony... Would be worth it even just as a parts set. $25 to $100 is a decent range for the 4 inch to 9 sets, with the 4 inch and 8 inch at the high end, or perhaps exceeding that range.

Note to Zeno, I'll take all the mint KV 8000s you can find for 10 bucks!

sony KV 9300 value

It seems like the small tv's are rising on ebay real fast, don't know why. A KV-9300 just sold for $300. only on ebay one day. I'd like to find a nice sony TV-760 but I'm not going to pay $200. like the one on ebay.
