The power transformer probably went up in smoke 50,60 years ago! Someone removed the chassis, thinking they were going to use the cabinet for something else.
In the early to mid-50's, just about every make and model of console radio was lined up at the Goodwill, like soldiers. $1.50 to $5.00 each. Around twenty sets at any given time.
Too late for tears!
