Bieber tops Muslim Brotherhood on list of White House petitions

Justin Bieber’s hometown of Stratford, Ontario has a population of about 31,000. At last count, the equivalent of seven Stratfords (or 0.4% of his Twitter followers) want authorities to strap him on the back of a Mounty and send him home.

“We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture,” the petitioner wrote from Detroit last week after Bieber was booked in Miami Beach. “We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive and drug-abusing Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked.”

The “Deport Justin Bieber” movement has become the most popular of all open White House petitions. Now the government is compelled to follow through on its policy to respond to any that surpass 100,00 signatures. The “We the People” system was launched back in 2011 with an original signature threshold of 5,000. The minimum has since been raised, presumably, to weed out some of the nut-jobs.
