B&k 1077

I don't have a manual for this piece of equipment, but is there a way to hook it up to a inoperative tube driven TV set to either bring up the high voltage or check the flyback?

If that is the analyst then, yes.
Ground the chassis of the analyst to the TV chassis, pull the top lead off the HOT Tube, connect the lead you disconnected to the plate drive of the analyst and set the plate drive switch to horizontal. Now turn both TV and analyst on and watch for a raster. There is a light on the tester and IIRC it is labeled boost which should light telling you the fly is good even if the CRT or HV rect. are too weak to produce a raster.

This assumes a working B&K analyst, which can be a big assumption especially if it is an early model. If you don't know if it works pull the photo pickup tube and run it with the top open to see if it's CRT produces a raster if it does it is probably usable.

A worthwhile book to have for the B&K 1077 is "Television Analyzing Simplified", by Milton Kiver. It is essentially a much-expanded operating manual for the 1077. Copies often come up for sale at low cost, and I know I have even seen it available online in PDF form for download.
