Any Grundig Satellit 6001 / 210 fans out there?

I just received a nice Grundig Satellit 6001 multiband receiver. This radio is awesome! Very, very good sound quality and lots of buttons, dials, switches, etc. to play with. Should be fun to explore the shortwave bands with this one.

Anyway, I need to get inside to change the dial illumination lamps. Anyone know what lamps and how many will be needed? I'd like to have the bulbs on-hand before venturing inside the radio. It looks like a complicated job.

There are lots of people here into Grundig and the other popular German sets; and more than a few who think the 210 is the best SW portable ever built.

There might be a few Zenith/TO fans who'll disagree though...

Not sure which one you have, but it's a complicated mutha, regardless. I have no idea of the bulbs (the omni-present Tom Bavis may have a SAMS Photofact) but just a bit of surfing turned up this excellent write-up:

And the author's listed email:

Enjoy the Grundig, and let us know what you find out-

Nolan, Thanks for the link! An excellent article on the Grundig 210. After a bit of research online, I have found that the correct lamp for the dial on this radio is the OSRAM 2307. It is an 80mA 6-7 volt lamp. Likely difficult to find in the U.S.

wcarroll,
Here's some more info on the Grundig 6001.

I have a Grundig Satellit 2000 that I restored and enjoy it very much. Great design and sound quality. The shortwave reception with just the buit-in telescopic antenna is the equal of my former Draker R8 and Lowe HF-225 Europa receivers which used a roof mounted omni antenna.

Another good Grundig link. Thanks Schnitzer. drh, my radio looks exactly like your's. Nice carrying case you have for it as well. The 210 continues to amaze me! It is proving to be a very nice performer!! I have some new bulbs coming, so hopefully they will work out OK.
