ESR METER Have you seen one like this

Hi I bought a ESR Meter from eBay last week for 28.00 Plus shipping , Its a cheaper price over some of the other auctions I seen on there . I prices for electronic Test Items are out of this world now for what they are asking .

So Im going to post some pictures of the ESR Meter I had bought from there .Would you happen to know who Made it . It seems to work very well at finding some bad caps On a VCR FM audio board im working on . I found many bad one's already so it was worth the price I paid for her

-Or it's not working and calling a lot of caps bad, that are not bad.....

Maybe you need two or three different meters..... Like the tube tester thread where
one tube tester does not agree with the next one.....

Do you have some NEW Caps - expensive Very good quality caps you can check this meter against....?

Even though it says "professional tester" on it, ya gotta be sure before you accept what it's saying as gold....

That looks like a home brew, made from something else, or it's been transplanted into that box, that's why the lettering on the left runs off the edge and there are extra holes near the bottom.

Yes I have tested it with good known caps and she checks out good . Im finding the bad caps with it . Some are checking out very bad some in question . But for most part that cap checker is working fine . It cant check 0,01 p caps , its just too low for the meter to check them anything larger it ok but smaller ones wont check with it .Im going to buy a oscilloscope from eBay or craigslist . Im thinking of small portable one like NLS-MS-215 OR 230 From NON Linear systems . I see the ham radio guys like it and seems to work very well for electronics and is easy to use too . But some of the other ones I looked at like velleman don't have much of a bandwidth . The NLS had a bandwidth of 30MHZ , but its a analog scope . The velleman is 12mhz analog .The 30 should do fine for what I want it for . I use to own a Tektronix scope but it didn't display a signal on the channels and I only paid 5.00 dollars back in 1996 . I tossed it in the trash .
