Is there any reason I'd want an Alinco Inverter Amplifier?

From the freebie pile at NEARC last week www.nearc.net
A cute little piece of hardware in good condition with some vacuum tubes inside.
Price is right, so home it came.

It is an Allegany Instrument Corp. (Alinco) Model 205 Inverter Amplifier. The tubes inside were three 6AU6s, a 5Y3, and a couple of miniature 9-pin gas-filled regulators.

Teh interwebs was powerless to tell me much of anything about it.

My gut feeling is to harvest the 5Y3 if it tests strong (they always come in handy) and then leave it as an offering for the Dump Deities.

Your thoughts?

Thanks for your consideration & Happy Friday!!!

someone into audio or old radios will pay a little for the regulators and 6AU6's.

The power transformer is great to have around for an old radio replacement. Probably OK for a 5 or 6 tube radio.
