1969 Silvertone color TV/stereo combination
A lady was selling this Silvertone TV/stereo combination on Facebook and someone tagged me in the post. A couple of other people acted like they wanted it, with one wanting the record changer to fix her stereo and someone else acted like they wanted it to gut, but neither one of them showed up for it. So, I wound up with it.
Cosmetically, it will clean up and look OK, but it is a "smoker's special" and it was in a house that has been vacant for years, and the house smelled musty and also had an odor of cat spray, which was absorbed by the TV. I have not tested anything out, but I can tell that it has a replacement CRT. The original would have had a bonded faceplate and would have likely had a cataract by now. This one is a newer tension-band type, but there is no label on the tube as to who made it. The stereo chassis is solid state and the TV chassis looks like it could be an RCA clone that was made by Warwick. Oddly enough, the TV does not appear to use the stereo chassis for audio, which is stupid. When I fix this, I may modify it to use the stereo chassis for audio amplification.

Exactly what I would do with the sound

However, the TV part does seem to have a rather beefy speaker already, as seen on the left in TV 5.jpg, or it used to
The picture seems to have gone through a time warp! Fujifilm FinePix F650 date taken 1/7/2006 It's that, or the date / time was not set when the batteries were last changed, which most people don't bother to do anyway!
