LG Model 50PS11 HDMI Issue

HI:

Anybody know whee I can get information about HDMI compatibility of my set with other HDMI devices such as DVD and Blu-Ray players, cable boxes etc.

I have a Phillips DVD home theater (model HTS3565D)that upconverts DVD's to 1080i and a Comcast cable box (Motorola - model unknown) that also supplies 1080i resolution.

Neither works with my LG 50PS11 Plasma TV via HDMI. Both work fine at full resolution with component inputs.

The Phillips freezes sometimes while watching a DVD.

The cable box downgrades the input on 1080i channels to 720p.

The issue is thatI do not have enough component inputs to support all devices I wish to attach.

If I can find compatibility information, then I might pursue a repair to the TV if it is broken.

The TV is still under extended warranty.

Any ideas, or known issues with any of these components?

Thanks!! ,

Try to see if there is a firmware update. Make sure that input is turned on in the setup menu. Not sure about your LG but I know Sony has that option. Check the menu on your cable box and see if there is an option to switch outputs. Same with the DVD player

LG HDMI Issue

Thanks! I did think about the firmware on the TV , checked LG's site and contacted their tech support, but that was a year ago. Your reply was a good reminder to check again.

I did not think about possible switching output options on the cable box and DVD player.

I will look into these options later this week or early next week, and let you know.
