Making a socket 8 for my CR-70?

This came up once or twice in the past, but I cannot locate the post. My CR-70 didn't come with a socket 8 for testing 70* color roundies, so I'm hacking up an old brightener to make one. Going off the knob settings for a 21AXP22, I found heater voltage on pins 4 and 10 of the cord coming out of the unit. But the others I'm lost on, can someone please direct me to where the other connections must be made? I believe I only need the G1 and cathode connections in order to test a CRT, right?

Reason: I hate the universal adapter, and being able to do color tracking tests would be nice.

I don't have a CR-70 but I think you need G2. My CRT tester uses G2 as the Plate. G1 bias is used for the Cutoff test.

You might be right, I wish I could find a schematic for this thing to confirm.

I thought I had a schematic of the CR70. But what I had was only a partial. Maybe someone else can help. I hope so...

I took a little different approach and made an adaptor from a 90 Degree color brightner using it's male end to a female 70 degree socket. Even though some of the pins are different you can verify the connections as well as matching up the color coding of the wiring.

Figured it out, here's the connections in case you find yourself in the same situation.

CR-70 knob position----------Output Terminal on test cable
F1=1, F2=14 (heater)----------------------4/10

Red Gun
K=4----------------------------------------14
G1=2---------------------------------------12
G2=13--------------------------------------13

Green Gun
K=5-----------------------------------------5
G1=6----------------------------------------6
G2=7----------------------------------------7

Blue Gun
K=13----------------------------------------9
G1=12---------------------------------------8
G2=11---------------------------------------3

Thus the following connections must be made, between the CR-70 and CRT socket:

CR-70 Cable-----------------CRT Socket
4/10----------------------------1/14
14-------------------------------4
12-------------------------------2
13-------------------------------3
5--------------------------------5
6--------------------------------6
7--------------------------------7
9--------------------------------13
8--------------------------------12
3--------------------------------11

I hacked the socket #7 that came with the unit to install a roundie female socket, looks like factory and works like a champ.
