Exclamation Rules of the House

I'd like to welcome all members to the VideoKarma Classifieds area, which is a great free resource for buying, selling, and swapping!

This forum's designed purpose is for listings of the following items:

* Television sets and non home theater related merchandise dating pre-1990

* Electronics test equipment of all types

* Video game systems, both home and arcade, including pinball machines, bowlers, and mechanical arcade and amusements. Due to laws in some states, gambing instruments will not be permitted at this time (slot machines or casino gaming merchandise).

To keep these forum classifieds free, we ask that you respect the guidelines of the board. Thanks, welcome, and enjoy!

Are parts for items in those categories kosher? I picked up a huge lot of tubes today, and I'd like to pass the TV stuff along to those who can make use of it.

Ditto on Sam's question... and big props to that Alpert avatar: I inherited a copy of the original LP. Never thought of it as a prized collectible, but it probably is.

I think there should be no problem with posting about parts. I post want ads for them a lot, and at times sell or give away some from my stash. I may be posting some free parts stuff very soon in fact.

Sure parts are kosher. If that should change we will notify everyone. Thanks for asking.

Is it OK if I list a bunch of miscellaneous VCR service manuals? Maybe someone needs one, for little more than USPS Priority Mail. Just want to see this stuff go where it's wanted. However many will fit in a Priority Mail envelope or box. I brought home several boxes from my old shop closing down next month. Far less than 1/4 of whats still there. Please advise!

Are these ads going to continue to be from individuals and not from commercial businesses? I don't think we want to open the door to commercial sellers with all that may follow, and I see that one of our posters here just introduced that he is becoming a commercial seller, setting up his own website to retail capacitors. Shouldn't a business be a paid advertiser?
