WTB: A GE table top with the same/similar model of this one I just missed out on );

yeah, so I literally just missed out purchasing this little GE table top (IDK the model #, maybe one of you can) on eBay and now I'm really bummed and want one more than ever X.X

It doesn't have to be the exact same color, but something within that same production family

I've included photos of the one I couldn't get

thanks.

Maybe some advertising literature would cheer you up until another one is found

The article above the advert, looks like it was interesting, as well.

That's a nice example of that model, most aren't that nice.
That's the model that has the PC boards on both sides of the CRT. It also has a Plastic film-type covering on the screen of the CRT, that generally yellows really bad.
I have the one year newer model, in rough condition, that has a totally different PC board and UHF. It also uses a tension-band CRT, which checks good. It looks like it was left outside in the elements and the PC board is cruddy and it's not something, I attempt to repair.

"if smoking stopped, said psychiatrist Howard M...We might as well have a nation of more Fat people and Alchoholics..."

A fascinating fragment that seems to have much truth behind it...

I resemble that remark!
He called that one right, even 54 years ago.

GE sold many of those little portables in different case configurations. Unfortunately, the majority were probably tossed when they died . I have one little one that needs an 11HP4 CRT. Haven't looked for the tube yet. Hope you find one!!

I have the 1965 model with UHF. I've used it since it was new, but not in the last 30 years since it's been in my basement. It's white with a black front and a chrome handle. Three knobs in a horizontal row under the VHF and UHF channel knobs. No anti-glare shield on the picture tube--just the glass.

I took it to college as my dorm room TV from 1978-81 and it served me well. I don't remember taking the back off that little TV more than once or twice. It got really warm on top with everything close inside that case and the metal handle would get really warm. I always thought it was a clever design and the case held up well despite all the heat and still looks good.

I wish you luck finding one. I agree that most people just pitched them when they stopped working or were no longer needed.

I only remember, working on one of them! It uses the 23Z9, where the earlier one uses a 17JZ8. That was in the early 70's. A bad cap in the vert circuit. The 23Z9 shattered when I hit it with circuit cooler, that's how hot it was running, with the vert fault.

The jug is good in the one I'm going to scrap.
I used the handle from one I scrapped to replace a broken one on a 20" box fan. Waste not, want not!
