Any checked out the new flackback systems yet?

I just picked up the Colecovision, Intellivision, Genesis, and Atari Flashback 5. I got the Colecovision and Intellivision both at Family Dollar on sale for $30 each and both have original sized controllers with overlays and 60 games in each unit. Got the Genesis and Atari at Sams Club for $40 each and they have 92 games in each. The Genesis came with a bonus 12 in 1 cartridge and the Atari has paddles as well as joysticks.

It kinda blows me away that I can't get 12$ for my spare working original Sega Genesis, but they have the stones to ask ~30$ for basically the same thing with games thrown in.

I just noticed the Atari while checking the local listings. Pretty neat, but I'd rather have an original.

Thanks for the notes, pac.attack. I may have to go look at the Colecovision one especially, to see if it includes any games that I never bought. $30 was the cost of ONE Colecovision cartridge, in 1982-84 dollars.

I had Atari flashback 3 and 4 and they were garbage.... DIDNT PLAY THE GAMES WELL,etc..... (Didnt have the games I like, etc) 4 was an utter piece of crap.... (Games didnt run well, etc)

I think I would rather have an official atari/coleco console again..... I have MANY ATARI/COLECO cartridges!! (Are the nicest on thier original consoles)

I certainly wouldn't recommend these as stand alone or replacement of the real thing. I just pretty much collect any kind of game stuff. I have original stuff as well so it doesn't bother me if these don't perform exactly the same. I have noticed that the sound is almost always incorrect. Games don't sound as they should. I think their neat but they certainly can't replace real equipment.

No problem Chris. Nothing is made well these days. That goes for movies, video games, tvs, cars. Its the same reason my last daily driver was a 76 lincoln continental. Looking to buy another one actually. I use a console tube tv and i own a ced player, a 1978 RCA vcr, and an Atari 5200 with 40 games.

Well, after some degree of disappointment, i decided to return all of them for refund. Flashbacks are ok if your not a collector or not worried about the quality too much but i usually by actual hardware and games. These didn't impress me like i thought they might. I do recommend the sega genesis ultimate portable game by Atgames. It is a blue and black portable with a 2.5" screen and connects to any tv with rca jacks. Also comes with 80 games and has a sd memory card slot to add the entire genesis library. Picking mine up tomorrow. I have their regular black and yellow portable which has Sega Master Dystem games and Game Gear games. They seem to get it right with the hand held units. Plenty of features and the graphics and sound are correct unlike their consoles. Will update once i get mine.

Lol, you probably thought i had taken a leave of my senses there for a bit. Just figured i'd try something that could have been neat. I only tried them once and probably would never hook them up again. They could have done better on those.

Some of the pong games could be implemented in analog, but that is about it...Pretty much every video game worth it's salt is digital.
