Arrow Vintage 1976 Toshiba Blackstripe 13" Color TV

Here's one of my favorite vintage small TV sets.
Managed to grab this FREE off someone getting rid of it on craigslist.
I called 2 times, no answer. Called a 3rd time and got a hold of the person.
They said they were going to throw it away for recycling or give it to Goodwill,
but then listed it on craigslist to see if someone wanted it.
Anyways, I went to go see it and to my amazement, the thing is near mint !
It looks like it was hardly used ! The picture on it is still great too !
It was manufactured in Japan May 1976.

That's a great find and being red makes it better. From the looks of the power switch, I'd say it has "instant on". I have a similar white Toshiba 9" from '76 that has instant on.

CRT is likely 370AUB22..One of my favorite sets use this blackstripe tube and was from 1976 as well.
That is a very very good TV set..they are near indestructible and do NOT suffer from the capacitor plague of late 80s early 90s Toshibas. Enjoy the large contrast that that crt is capable of

Thanks!
When we turned it on to test it, before I picked it up, I couldnt believe how nice it looked ! The contrast and colors are superb ! I dont think it was used much because they said it was in a spare bedroom. Thats the good thing about small sets like this. Most of the time, they were used as spares and didnt get used alot, unlike the bigger 19"-30" sets.
I think these sets also came in yellow and white casing.

The yellow version is at one of the flea markets; but, at $75, it's probably not going anywhere.

Was it originally Yellow or is it a White one that's discolored?

I had one of those that I sold recently. Mine was white, and came with the Toshiba swivel stand. ( not sure if that was optional or if they all came with one)
