Some New Acquisitions To My Radio Collection

This Summer I have had the pleasure of adding two radios to my little tube collection.

The first acquisition was a non-functioning 1945 RCA M-46.

I had Videokarma member, GregB, do a recap/repair on it. Although the cabinet is in okay shape, there's a part of me that wants to take it apart and refinish it.

My second acquisition, a 1941/42 RCA A-23, kind of fell into my lap. It had been recently recapped and some tubes replaced. The cabinet was beautiful, and the asking price was even more attractive so I couldn't resist.

Because there's really not a lot of Shortwave Stations, or even AM Stations that play music, these two radios will spend a lot of time serving as an iPod dock because they both have functioning RCA phonograph inputs.

They are now part of my humble little collection along with my mother's VR-60 that she bought as a young woman during WWII.

And my SABA Freudenstadt 8 that belonged to a former RCAF member while stationed in Germany during the 1950's.
