Panasonic RF-2200
I just picked up a 1977 panasonic RF-2200 at an estate sale yesterday. From what I've read online, its one of the "best" radios ever made. A one of the best DX'er radios for AM. Just curious if anyone else has one of these and what you think. I use a '68 grundig satellit 210 for most of my am DX'ing(transistor 6001) but have not compared the two yet.
First off, mine works well, but has a broken antenna and a sticky tuning meter. Is there a source I can go to to find a replacment antenna and tuning meter for this radio? Its seems like a popular enough of a radio that I should be able to find parts. Also would like to find a manual or atleast a copy of one. Any info appriciated-Thanks

That IS a nice radio,I had a couple of those,and i still have a RF-4800.
dont know what to tell you as far as finding a meter, usually they are bad because of someone squirting cleaner or de-oxide too close to the meter itself, and or from use around high moisture areas, actually i had a parts one someplace,I may have tossed it,but i will let you know as i have been cleaning out my basement the past 2 weeks.. that radio sounds and picks up Excellent.its a keepers fer sure..! |
