you be the ebay judge
I was bidding tonight on this mundane Philco Transitone that I needed for a project for a friend.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6551354986 I bid about 2 hours ago, and suddenly a bid comes in about an hour ago from a bidder that has been registered since yesterday (8-10-05), no previous alias' and has two feedbacks already. And the bids keep going up against no one but me and I have already been over-bid. Just ended with the late and numerous bidder winning. Any bets on a "second chance offer" to me? I will post this at AROL for others also. Be afraid, be very afraid. Dave A |

Two positive feedbacks for great transactions...one on the same day he became a member and another the next day (today) makes me wonder.
Is there an explanation I missed? Dave A |

It could very well all be legit. If he paid paypal instantly the sellers could have gave hime feedback upon receipt of payment.
He didn't really get in a bidding war but he just kept uping his bid amount until he finally surpassed your bid. His other purchases are radio related from different parts of the country so if it's a scam, it's a lot of planning for a $40 item |

I never let stuff like this bother me. I've gotten maybe...20 radios off of eBay in the last few months, and approach it the same exact way every time. If I like the radio, I bid what I'm willing to pay (Never, NEVER arrange shipping after the auction is over) and forget about it, win or lose, until it's time to pay or erase the bookmark from my desktop. If I'm outbid, I always figure it's for the best.
If you're looking for a cheap project radio Dave, send me a PM. I've got a few to spare- |

Shame
Does not sound good. I have been only shill bidded once on the bay- I think, otherwise very lucky. Dam , sorry to hear this, appropiate bay feedback neeeded to avoid future fraud victims. Did you win item?? If shill bidder won item, shot their own foot as nobody's money is taken. Usually suspicious bay relistings get very low sale prices or no bids since jig IS UP.
