Disabling Oscillator for Alignment - How is it done?

Going to try to get a response curve, and maybe later, an alignment on my CTC-16x and the Sam's calls for disabling the oscillator section of the mixer-osc. They do not say how it should be done.

How is this generally performed?

as told to me by electronic m, when I asked the same question about my 16-xl.

" Ways to disable osc stick the tuner between channels (all turret tuners and some water types will open the osc coil circuit between channels, take a spare osc tube you don't like and clip a grid or plate pin off and stick that tube in. "
