According to the nameplate on the Kodak VCR, shows a Panasonic part number.
I didn't think Panasonic built 8mm equipment. |

Guess I will re-run my Mitsubishi HS-430U. Has every feature they could pack into it in '84-85: MTS Stereo tuner, HiFi Stereo, Dolby linear stereo, remaining time counter, manual audio levels, illuminated cassette well with a mirror system so you can see down into the cassette.

Wow, I've got one of those NEC SVHS decks, and this is the first time I've seen any reference to it on the net. It's been a good machine since I changed the ruined cassette load motor, and the bad belts it had when I bought it.

Two people I know have (or had) DS8000s. Quite nice machines!

Very hard to beat this machine. The Sony EDV-9500, but with nice wood side panels.

That's the EDV-9300, made for the Canadian market.

OK, thanks. The U.S. had the EDV-7500 with wood panels, but it was a less-feature-laden model. (I do not want to call any ED Beta VCR "stripped down".)

Unless it had actually been stripped, which would suck. I know about the 7500, slimmer with no jog dial.

I'm privileged to own an example of a very unique looking VCR, the Sony SL-HF2100. Not a single physical button on the unit, and the only switch is for selecting channel 3 or 4 output. Also is apparently the only consumer Betamax deck to sport S-video jacks. It didn't come with the matching remote, but for the price I paid, I'm not complaining too much. Pictures available at the top of this page.
