KV8000 Drifing Convergence
Okay this is a call out to Sony Experts.
I have two sets now that do this and I have yet to solve the issue. I find it fairly irritating. The other is a KV5100 that's REALLY beat that I got cheap thinking it was broken, but in actuality it works except this issue. Once the set has been on awhile, for no reason, and quite suddenly, the convergence of the screen will drift, the colors will separate a little. I can tweak the convergence adjustment on the HV Rectifier and bring it back, but I should not have to do this. Has anyone seen this before? All I can figure is it means the HV Rectifier is dying. The flyback connects right in to it. I have a spare from a parted KV5000 Electronic M gave me awhile back, and the rectifier is identical and the part numbers match. Should I swap it in? |

Andy, here on the forum, is a good resource for the small screen Sonys.
