Magnavox AM-81
I received a radio just like this for my 6th birthday many years ago. The one pictured here was picked up on Ebay. Going through a period where I'm attempting to re-live my childhood. Can anyone help me out with a link to a
schematic diagram or service manual to this particular model? I have searched with no luck. |

Hello and welcome.
From what I can find so far the Sams TSM-58 booklet has your schematic in it. The booklet was published in 1966. Horward W. Sams is the publisher. |

Looks just like a "Yuden" I had back in the 79s, got it at a yard sale. I got it's clone on eBay in '99, a Viscount - only change from yours is the wording and a "V" logo plate.
Lots of Vietnam-era transistors in this area at one time - Sailors returning from Vietnam had them. Supposedly, the AFRTS news wasn't enough, so they listened to BBC Hong Kong or ABC (Australia) radio. My Yuden had labelmaker tape on the back with the two frequencies - 550 or something close IIRC.
