$5K Sparton

Sure is nice lookin - Sparton made some really elaborate cabinets. I dunno about that price though

Anyone recognize the model ?
It doesn't seem to match any of the pictures on Mike's Equasonne website: http://spartonequasonne.webs.com/models.htm

I'd be afraid to open the doors for fear of seeing Vincent Price staring back at me!

A little too ornate for my house.

LOL - I see what you mean
I think they call this style 'Rococo' ?

Mike replied that it's possibly a 301 in a custom cabinet.

I'm with Mike-that's a lot of gingerbreading to put on a production piece.

That looks mighty similar to one we had at an NJARC club auction many years ago. Too big and heavy for most folks to even consider taking home, they couldn't get anywhere near a hundred dollars for it even AFTER the auctioneer pointed out that it had two globe '50 tubes in it!

One advantage (disadvantage?) to collecting within a a good club environment, you get filled up with good stuff so quickly you HAVE to slow down.
