1949 Crosley with Colordaptor Color Wheel

This is a gem to see. How does this thing work with the odd oar-paddle dividers between the color segments? Every other wheels I have seen have continuous color segments. A whole lot 'o black-out between fields.

And it appears to work. Any AK bidders?

1950'ish Motorola Guts

I'm guessing the cabinet now houses a fishtank or plasma.

Oh well, nice clean chassis and tube if you need it.

Darn, I'm NEVER close enough to pick up anything. That is a SUPER clean chassis, almost unused looking. I think that chassis would go in my Model 17T13 or 17T8. One of my Motorolas works but it would be nice to shove this in the more battered of my two sets. Might be a plug and play. The really cool thing is this Ebay set has a power transformer it seems where both of mine have the stupid selenium rectifiers. This example is probably a few years older than mine. Probably 1950 or so.....

Smile Grandma's Setchell-Carlson B&W TV set in the family photo album

Sometime at Christmas at Grandma's in the 50's and early 60's. I'm pretty sure that the TV set (partially visible in both pictures) was the Setchell-Carlson that had continious tuning channels 2 thru 6 (VHF low) and 7 thru 13 (VHF high). A ring knob was used to select VHF low or high. Not sure why grandma looks unhappy, maybe the TV needed service?

Only problem is the guy doesn't seem to be too motivated (or care) to respond. I've sent him a couple emails and he hasn't responded. There was a phone number I called. Guy didn't seem to be too interested in talking about it but said he'd send some photos, which he hasn't. Haven't been able to get ahold of him since.

zeinith tv & matching stereo, ebay in denver

if anyone close is interested...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-1953-Zen...QQcmdZViewItem

Description:
Wow nothing like taking a leap back in time. It is amazing how far televisions have come!!! This is a nice vintage piece of history. It is a 1953 Zenith Television set in a metal/wood console.
When I first brought it home this week....I plugged it in...it powered up and I got sound AND picture. The next day when I turned it on to show a friend, all I can seem to get is the lighted screen. I cannot see picture or sound. So....don't know what that means. I'm too chicken to wiggle anything in the back of the TV as I don't know what I'd damage if I did try. I did not hook up an Antenna so that may be why there was no picture. I am not sure. This TV appears to have NEVER left the Denver area. There is a sticker on the back from the original Denver store that sold it. The first 7 pictures are all of the TV.

The Turntable and stereo I don't know anything about either. The power cord in the pack is damaged too much to try to plug into an outlet. So...don't know if this would work or not if it was repaired. Last 4 pictures are of the Stereo. Sticker on the inside says it is from Wards. This unit looks like it is in pretty rough shape....maybe all it's good for are parts. You decide.

This is for local pick-up only. I live near Simms and Quincy or Littleton.
There is NO reserve, so highest bidder will win this auction.

When I got a little older I got to carry bags of tubes to the store for the free test. They kept the stock locked in the bottom. To this day I need a tester capable of testing ALL types of radio and TV tubes. I have two now and can test most tubes but there on my older set up there is a socket but no settings for the old 1930's 78, 80, ect..My later Hickok does not have that socket but DOES have the sockets for the later Compactrons which I seldom fool with. This old industrial job probably will test anything. Its just too big for my small space on Earth....
