Sinclair mtv.1
Just wanted to share a rare moment this Sinclair I got on eBay and it actually works like new and took it all apart to change the nicads and to see if there was any corrosion and to my surprise there was not a bit of corrosion to be found. Note the bottom of the screen compaired to the top, thats typical with electrostatic tubes like what is seen in some 7jp4 tubes when they are put together if one of the deflection plates are touched or bumped into this is the result. But this baby dinosaur works amazing.

Yupper….had one. There was only one VHF and one UHF station I could watch on it...so I gifted it to a friend who lived in Little Rock and he got much enjoyment out of it!

Congratulations, it is great to see one running! Do you have another CRT to try? The trapezoid geometry could also be caused by poor power supply filtering, allowing the horizontal sweep to affect the height.
Is this a rare bezel that does not have a crack above the CRT! jr Last edited by jr_tech; 11-22-2018 at 01:45 PM. |
