Sony Grand Wega KDF-70XBR950 conundrum

I bought the titled model new in 2003, and have replaced the lamp thrice since, the last time being two months ago.

The set started acting weird a few weeks ago. I would turn it on, green light flashing and then stabilized, sound would come on for about two seconds and then stop, no picture. Then after a few minutes, picture and sound, sometimes.

Other times I would get green flashing, then red flashing in 5 blink segments (indicating lamp driver failure). Occasionally I would get the replace lamp LED blinking. Sometimes the set would work, other times not.

I took out the lamp and inspected it, and the filament was still connected. In fact I was able to watch a Netflix flick this evening.

So, given the plethora of symptoms, do you think it could be the power supply, or the new (but cheap) lamp?

All opinions greatly appreciated.
