Aside from one broadcast from Salem Saturday or Sunday night it's been terribly quiet. Pretty much all the truck routes here now have people using digital or commercial bands because adding a CB is too much hassle.

I mean, it is. You can now buy a brand new CB kit with 40 channel basic radio, cable and antenna for under $100 but why have you and your friends/co-workers buy that when you can use some service that's on your phone and get better range?
It's like IRC. It's free, it's an old platform and there's no fee to use it but compared to modern platforms like Discord it has way more moving parts to set it up.

I have no problems with CB. Sometimes I pick up skip on channel 9 on my Bearcat BCD325P2 scanner with the rubber duck antenna. CB i still in use around here, I think I heard a weigh station on I-70 near me on channel 3, I live just north of I-70 in Ohio, north of Wheeling WV. I Door Dash for a living and some placed where they frack for oil and gas, you announce yourself on CB radio to open the gates and that is useful to deliver. Yes, even so, you can always call on the phone but the CB does make it a little easier. I carry a CB 40 channel HT from Uniden.
