General electric k 50 cathedral

I just bought this radio, and worked on it. Some of the original paper caps are still in the set since i shake too much when i concentrate. Working in tight spots makes my tremors worse. I do have one question,,it does have new electrolytics....but the longer it plays the better it sounds on an am country station. Is that common?
