Hi,i'm Dave, A new subscriber, long time observer. I started repairing tv's 50 years ago. Right now i'm just a collector and restorer. I'll try to advise others with some of experiences I aquired working on these early models that are refered to here. Glad to be part of the group, Dave.

Glad to see you here Dave! Did you ever get that Philco and RCA 17-T-150 going? I never looked at either set except to peek inside.

RCA 17s150 & Philco 21 in. table model.

Hello Mark. Thanks for the welcome. I brought up RCA on a variac to check status of power supply. This RCA is unusual that it uses a voltage doubler and selenium rectifiers. The 17QP4 checks good so i'm going to restore it. Didn't try the philco yet. Best regards, Dave.

Welcome to VK

A lot of early Motorola and GE sets use selenium doublers too. Easy way to save cost and weight. Not so great for safety though.
