Thrifts around here full of good CRT sets.

I saw a 27" Sony KV-27XBR10, same set I bought new in 1990, $50.

Another store had a newer 27" XBR for $49.95, working great.

Yet another store had a 27" RCA Dimensia wood tabletop with a swivel base for $75, it was hooked up and working fine, I tweaked it a little to make it look better but it was hooked up to a VCR so only so much could be done.

Same store had a Colortrak Console, also working fine, it was adjusted too green and oversaturated but I fixed that also.

We stopped in a few independent thrift stores last Saturday. I was surprised by the one, which is run my the local Soroptimist club. They had a pretty nice collection of stuff in the "electronics corner". I almost bought a portable GE 8-track player ($2) but thought better of it. They also had a 13" Zenith System 3 from '85, digital tuner, $5 as I recall. If it were about 5 years older I might have grabbed it. Also a fairly decent RCA 25" monitor-type set that I would guess was from about '84, also around $5 or $10. Had the name of a school etched across the top.

Heck Bryan, you could have turned that portable 8-track over on eBay.

I thought about that...I have been doing a lot of "picking" lately! But I didn't know what they were fetching. Hmmm...I have to drive through there next weekend. Guess I could grab it if still there.
