Yep, it's pretty! When I first saw it I thought it was one of those modern replicas that look okay until you see the big "Collector's edition" plaque like a neon sign, front and center!

When I turned it around and saw the room heaters, I knew I was going to have a hard time walking away...

nice radio redboy. i sure the hell would of bought it too.i started this crazy hobby with wooden tube radios then progressed to the tube shortwave recievers and finally tube amps etc..btw is the tuning eye a 6e5?

Good Find Redboy! I love the gold dial silvertones and you've got a really nice one. That is a 1937 set. Table top receivers with eye tubes are not easy to find as they were supposed to be inexpensive sets.

I regret to inform you however that yours if missing some stuff. Yours would have had a dial glass and a bezel that the glass would fit into.

Ah, you stumbled on that one somehow, the next one you find will have a beat up wood cab with no knobs but an intact glass and bezel ($5.00) :thmbsp:

That is a Silvertone model 4565 according to the Radio Attic. It has 8 tubes including the eye. Should be quite a performer.

Looks like there were 2 versions of the chassis that went in that model. Chassis model 100.151 and model 101.410.

You could prolly, if you got industrious, make a bezel out of a cross-section of 4"-or whatever- PVC pipe, & if you had access to a lathe, do a pretty good job of "phonying up" something that looked like the original bezel.. A local glass shop should be able to cut out a suitable sized-replacement for the dial glass...

That's a very desirable radio. The big gold dial Silvertones from the mid to late thirties are highly sought after, whether console or table model.
