I worked at a Maggie dealer while in college in the early 70's and I'll tell you the best selling feature Maggies back then..their cabinets. Some customers (old ladies) could care less about seeing a picture. Man did we sell a lot of Fruit wood cabinets. And delivering combos, oh my aching back!

Another thing Maggies had trouble with...tube sockets. I've replaced more tube sockets in these than any other brand. They were so cheap they would cause intermittents everywhere. You had to be careful as the circuit boards were thin and would crack easily when messing with them.

Ingjerd and I concur! Our old Maggie Roundie needed virtually every tube socket replaced to play reliably. Also had to have the Horizontal Output tubes, the Rectifier Tube, and a Flyback. Recapped it while in there. Another tip for Magnavox restorers. Watch the horizontal output current. It's often running way high. Killed many a flyback in the day. After that's dealt with and a new flyback, they usually played fairly well. I always felt like many a Maggie would have been a better, more reliable set if they'd specified a notch or two better components in them. They always liked to cheap out on some parts which failed pretty regular. Especially those tube sockets.

My T933's CRT is back from Scotty at Hawkeye! fantastic job and a very reasonable price! Next was a new 3CU3 as the old one couldn't handle the new CRT! Focus again! Perfect tracking from low lite to high bright! Tonight I will start tweaking the purity and convergence and hopefully there will be pictures posted in the next few days!

Excellent! I can't wait to see it.

Here it is Gang! Rebuilt CRT, all new tubes except 6BK4, 12Ax7 and 6GK5. New boost rectifier, vertical capacitors (including cathode electrolytic). This is after a two minute warmup!

That's a fine looking Maggie! Probably the best I've never seen.
