I would have picked it up if it was a good deal. Unless the wood has been hacked with an ax, it can be refinished. I would by no means consider that it would be a "can't save em all" case. The chassis is there and a pretty intact looking speaker is there.

Oh, if you saw it up close, the wood was all damp and delaminated. It was a mess and really would have been almost impossible to spruce up. Can't even get a dollar sometimes for them at the club auctions these days. They throw sets like that on the big "radio bonfire" at the Kutztown meet.

Still, now I'm thinking maybe I should go back and grab those knobs...

OMG! A RADIO bonfire!! There can't be that many basket cases out there....

I was at one of those radio bonfires, and there is really nothing to save with the junkers they toss on there. The one I was at featured a large pair of Knight speaker cabinets, a mid 30's Philco console and 50's Grundig console. The fumes from that fire were pretty intense, to say the least.
