Cool. I saw that it cleared up your Motorola sound woes. Mine has been working out great too.

yea that was a nice side benefit! I almost gave up until I realised I had the video feed from wrong "video out" from my dvd player.

What to do with all my winnings? I won several modulators on Public Surplus:

1 - Phasecom TV Modulator 2106 - looks to be dual modulator!
1 - Blonder Tongue Channelized Agile Modulaor CAMS-60, Model# BT5895
1 - Scientific Atlanta Modulator 6350 - looks to have 4 or 5 bays fiilled, probably a filter or stereo.

Got them all for 33 bucks or less. Local pick up, so no shipping, just the taxman. Portsmouth City Schools here closed down their TV studio. Lots of production and control room stuff - Sony cameras, monitors, titlers, and stereo processors. My stuff went cheap, but they got some smakeroos for other stuff!

I also got a Panasonic CRT HDTV - 1080i, for 25 bucks. Hope it's in good condition physically.

Cheers,

Good Luck with those Phasecom modulators... My youthful experience includes building two headends with those things. Let's just say you're in for a thrill if you try running BTSC or SSAVI through them!

Sadly, had to junk them both - they were upstream modulators for channels t7 and t10, not TV VHF channels 7 and 10 as I originally believed. Gave the guts for the T7 to a local ham - he's using the 7MHz oscillator for some project.

I just bought a Blonder Tongue AM-40 agile modulator so I could use analog portable and handheld TVs again. I hooked a DTV converter up to the modulator, a pair of set top aerials for a transmitting antenna and set the modulator to broadcast on channel five. Within a few minutes I had it working perfect and a very strong signal receivable all over the house. I will find a permanent hidden spot for it and let it run 24/7 so I can use my Sony Watchman and other small black and white sets like they were meant to be. These things are the greatest. I wish I had the room for a half dozen each with a DTV box covering a different channel all mounted in a rack or cabinet. Mine did not come with any instructions for the dip switches but I was able to figure it out.
