Yeah, I've read up a lot about 'em on here, & I understand they can be REAL "Pills" to live with...

Great thread,, anything helps as far as info regarding the Predicta,, seems like I tweak on that one the most.

Phil, I admire the restoration efforts and all the information that you've supplied on your website about your set. I wished mine looked as good as yours!
Mine was pretty ugly at first but it's a slow process. I'll work on it, improve it a little more, take a break from it, and repeat! It is now in playing condition but not completely there yet, and I need to make another base for the cabinet too. Other projects come and go and then the Predicta gets buried! |
It was Phil's site that guided the work on my Predicta, and the result was having only a very minor issue after recapping. Because of his work, I have an absolutely wonderful set that runs like new.

I gave up on my Predicta Princess about 10 months ago - I think I was in over my head :o The voltages seem OK, but no sound or picture.
Since then, I've been reading up on site like Phil's and am starting to feel more confident. I have also acquired a spare chassis and NOS picture tube. One of these days I'll get back to it :scratch2: |
