Not to mention room treatments or speaker poisitioning criteria.

I heard a guy installing a new sound system in a church sanctuary refer to the room as an "acoustic toilet".

Now that the mistake has been corrected, a mere 12 minutes ago,
Does it relate to this thread at all? Nope. :)
People are often creative in their listening rooms ! :smoke:

The funny thing is, I know all these things, and I know the technical reasons behind why they are true, but for whatever reason I still enjoy listening to a record more than I enjoy listening to a CD, and I still enjoy listening through my tube amp more than my listening through solid state amp. I guess I just find the inherent distortions of a mechanical playback mechanism and tube-powered output pleasant.

EDIT: Although I will say, not ALL of my records are more pleasant to listen to than their CD counterparts. I have a few Killers records, for example, which I think sound simply awful compared to the CDs.

I prefer 8-tracks to any other format, certainly not because of their sound quality, I just think they're cool. I don't care much for the excessive wow and flutter and/or "motorboating" from some tapes though, not to mention the locking tabs breaking off the cheaper ones when I have to open them for repairs.
