Well Robb.... It's ok, I've seen on Huffington Post little cars with pallets of bricks
balanced on top, entire loads of wood, all kinds a stuff.... That TV don't weigh anywhere near that much..... You can do it ! ! Looking forward to the hi quality picts, and youtube movies of the tv..... . |
I dont collect console tv's, just table tops.
|
Ok, yer excused..........
Well, on second thought..... Maybe you need one.... just one.... :) . |
My guess is '68 or '69. I think this two-tone CRT bezel and control panel with the 5 color emblem were used during the final years of Westinghouse production.
I just checked my copy of the 1967 Westinghouse Color TV brochure and this set is not pictured. And I doubt the filigree pattern on the speaker fabric and the Mediterranean style carved strip are pre-'67. A rare piece of Westinghouse history that deserves to be saved. I can scan & post the brochure if anyone is interested. |
You can always stack more tabletop sets on it.
|
Well, I don't collect 70's SS sets, but I keep a few around to keep them from being destroyed by those who lack an appreciation of them.
|
I'd buy it just for the cool color emblem and funky speaker cloth!
|
Probably a 1968 or 1969 - JC Penney used Westinghouse chassis about that same time and it looks very much like a 1969 Penncrest I once had with bad cataracts on the CRT and an open CRT filament. The date code for the Power transformer would tell - it's below the part number in your picture and would be part of a seven-digit number, being the last four digits. I tried zooming in, but it fuzzes right up.
