Hey Dave, thanks for your comment. I see that socket right next to the 6CD6 tube. 3 holed socket, in a triangle configuration. Only scope I have is this scope with the pictured probe, so not entirely sure how to hook up that probe to that socket really. Not used a scope before.

I am new to this TV restoration thing as well but have been into radio and amp repairs for 30 plus years so do have some vintage electronics back ground. A lot of folks say that mica caps are very reliable and cause little concern and this is true most of the time but what I have been finding in most every set I have worked in the last little while is that any mica cap used in a coupling application is suspect. If it has a large voltage differential on it I would be looking at it. In my brief experience I have found about 50% of mica caps in this application have issues and if you are having troubles after a recap they are the first ones I look at.

She is up and running after two issues were corrected. Turns out I had a shorted vertical winding in the yoke AND found a misplaced wire coming out of the vertical osc block transformer. Those two issues fixed and was watching it last night and this morning.

Nice , i don't think the one that i had had such sharp focus , it was kind of adjust that permanent magnet and not much of a difference , maybe it was also because the crt was weak or the magnet was weak too , it had nice sound , booms in a basketball court boomed.
this set was one of a couple different sets that you'd see in the Cunnigham living room on happy days , hope it gets a good home since i'm not going to the etf.

Hey Bryan, I was actually able to sell it to a local collector this past weekend. I kinda miss it now. Had a fantastic picture. Let me tell you one thing, it sure put me through the ringer for a few months and sharpened my repair/diagnostic skills, that's for sure. For that I am thankful. :yes:

You are right, the focus control was ok, but not great. This CRT was strong, but for some reason the focus would never get really sharp like some other sets. But it still looked great. "Happy Days" are here again!!! :D

That very set, as I think I'd mentioned before, was a local TV star. When WBOC taped their 60th anniversary special last summer they borrowed that Philco to use in the opening.
