When i mentioned the thing that looked like a bulb socket i meant video not audio.

ok i looked at the video board and it doesn't really looked cooked , if anything the if section looks suspicious or might be dirt , perhaps since it is a vertical chassis that helps ?

been testing tubes and like someone else with a recent post on a ctc-9 there is a 6gh8 in the tuner instead of 6ea8 , the 3a3 is pretty weak , the 6bk4 even weaker , the fly doesn't look like it dripped or has any issues but would have to scrutinize it , the 3a3 socket is loose , looks like it was put in or put back in with hot glue .

forgive this question if its obvious but the hv anode lead does plug into the metal ring that the 3a3 socket is in right ?

correct on the HV lead into the metal surround of the 3A3 socket.

that thing i said looks like a light socket is a light and socket , located near the on off volume , i didn't know it had a light.

the light is there to light up the controls under the door on the side.
