It had a purple blotch on the top of the picture which couldn't be corrected with the onboard assembly

Ok. Mine has a color bleeding issue and the brightness and other settings drift with the colors on the screen.

I remember as a preteen carrying my PlayStation everywhere I went, this was a very common problem with Zenith TV's. I never figured out why, but I think the correct answer is earlier in this thread.

I was never able to make it work, I tried rf adapters, rf modulators, VCR's but nothing would get that damn PSX working! Had no problems with my other consoles though.

I have played games on everything from 1980s SS black and white sets to 2010s flat panels, but the only problems I ever had was with a PlayStation one and a zenith. Weird.
